Hiring a car at Drogheda

Drogheda is one of Ireland's oldest towns and is a popular tourist spot. It's on the east coast in County Louth, and Dublin is 30 miles to the north. With a Unesco World Heritage Site at Newgrange just five miles west of Drogheda, Enterprise is popular with visitors to the area who want to hire a vehicle and see all the wonderful sights. You'll find Enterprise Rent-A-Car on North Road, close to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. The M1 motorway is just to the west of the Enterprise branch and this road leads to Dublin. In Drogheda itself, visit St Peter's Church on the main street and admire its architecture while learning about its history. St. Laurence Gate is also a must-see and is part of the buildings and walls making up the town's ancient history. Drive out to visit Beaulieu House and Gardens in the northeast of the town - it's a real hidden gem, on the river Boyne. Then, visit Mellifont Abbey at Tullyallen, around six miles northwest of Drogheda. Although the abbey is now a ruin, it's very beautiful and represents the monastic way of life in the area during the 12th century.
