Rental Policies

All additional drivers must meet all hire requirements. Additional drivers must appear at the hire counter with the primary renter. The additional driver can only be added to the contract at the pick-up date and location. An additional driver fee of NT$180 per day applies.

The minimum age requirement to drive all vehicles is 18. There is no maximum hire age.

Vehicles cannot be driven into any other country.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is included in the rate for all vehicles. CDW reduces the liability of the renter in the event of damage to or theft of the vehicle. The excess is reduced to NT20,000 for all domestic cars. For pure electric or imported cars, the excess is reduced to NT50,000. In addition, the renter shall compensate for operation losses during the vehicle repair period according to the following standards: for up to 10 days, 70% of the standard hire rate for that period; for 11 to 15 days, 60% of the standard hire rate for that period; for 16 days or more, 50% of the standard hire rate for that period. However, the operation losses calculation period shall be limited to a maximum of 20 days. In cases of violations such as the use of alcohol, drugs or any other misuse as stated in the Terms and Conditions, the renter is responsible for the full value of the damage.
It is advisable to determine if the renter's personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees. CDW is not insurance.

The one-way fee varies based on the vehicle category, return location and pick-up date. The exact amount of the one-way fee will be displayed during the reservation process after entering the hire dates, route and selected vehicle category. Please be aware that dropping off at the incorrect return location shall charge an additional handling fee of NT$1,000.

Each vehicle will be provided with fuel cards from Formosa Petrochemical Corporation (FPC), CPC Corporation (CPC) and National Petroleum Corporation (NPC). Renters must use the corresponding fuel card as the payment method at the respective petrol station. After refuelling, petrol station staff will request the renter's signature as proof of transaction. Please note that the fuel card is the only accepted payment method for refuelling.
The fuel cost will be calculated based on the mileage driven when the vehicle is returned. The calculation is as follows:
Fuel Cost = (Returning Mileage – Departure Mileage) × Mileage Charging Standard for each model. Mileage Charging Standard changes every quarter.
Failure to comply with this refuelling policy may result in additional charges.

Refuelling charges and available options will be explained at the branch when you pick up your vehicle. Charges may vary based on the option selected.

In the event of injury or death to the driver or passengers, the maximum claim amount per person is NT$3 million. The number of people is subject to the carrying limit listed on the vehicle licence.

All major credit cards, issued by either American Express, MasterCard, VISA or JCB, are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. Pre-paid cards, cash, cheques and debit cards are not accepted. In addition, if the renter has an online reservation, the number and name printed on the card presented by the renter must match the name and number stored for the online transaction. A deposit is not required to hire a vehicle.

All drivers must present a valid physical driving licence at the time of hire. Electronic or digital licences are not accepted.
For citizens of Taiwan, the renter must present a National ID card and a valid driving licence.
For non-citizens, if the renter is returning the vehicle within 30 days of entry, the renter must present a passport, a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) issued by a country that has reciprocity with the R.O.C., a driving licence issued by the country of origin, and an entry record such as an entry stamp. The IDP must be issued by the same country as the passport and by a country that is a signatory of the Vienna or Geneva Conventions. If the renter is unable to return the vehicle within 30 days of entry, the renter must present a passport and either an International Driving Permit or an R.O.C. driving licence. Failure to provide a valid IDP will result in denial of the hire.
In addition, all renters must present a valid credit card in the renter's name upon collection of the vehicle.

For any third-party casualty, the maximum claim for each casualty including medical treatment, is NT$2 million. NT$2 million for each casualty, NT$4 million for each accident and NT$500,000 for property damage.
